Dex gets to go to preschool in a farm. He does chores including feeding animals and tending a garden along with the normal preschool activities. It has been so fun to experience preschool this way!
Seriously, sometimes you just have to laugh when your 3 and 4 year olds start fighting and calling each other names like 'stinky garbage butt grumpy face'. They get into the most ridiculously awesome fights. Lately though we've been having some trouble with the kids having these huge grumpy freakouts of magnificent proportions. Kai and
These three monkeys have been playing together more and more. Gus has also joined bedtime stories and is loving the extra time with Dex and Veda.
The first real snow of the season. When we got to church there were just a few flurries. By the time we left there was already inches on the ground. The kids were thrilled and so excited to try out there new snow pants. So when we got home I sent them outside with Kai
Now that I'm a parent of small children (as opposed to babies and toddlers) I am remembering so much of my childhood with my own parents. I remember it but now I understand their perspective. It's very surreal to be in situations as a mother that I remember clearly being in Dex and Veda's role

I just found out that Dex's preschool classroom has it's very own Elf on a Shelf to keep them in line until Christmas. Here's the thing. I think the Elf on the Shelf is super cute. I chuckle when I see what shenanigans all my mom friends come up with for their Snowflake or Hoppy
I hate labels. I think they are too restricting and never fit quite right. They pigeonhole people and are so frequently misused that they are just pretty much useless to me. So I try not to use them. I don't "attachment parent" I just follow my instincts. I'm not a democrat or republican, I vote
For most of our life together we've been poor college students. That hasn't changed since having three children. Since Kai is in graduate school things are tight. Every month we have to figure out how to make it work. And that means we pretty much live as simply as we can. I'd like to think
